Gautam Singh

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Gautam is a co-founder and CEO of The Smart Cube and is responsible for setting the firm’s strategic direction globally. He has 20+ years of management consulting, venture capital and industry experience in Europe and the US.

Prior roles include Corven Partners (London), A.T. Kearney (London), as well as Mitsubishi Motors (India) and Cummins Engines (US). Gautam has an MBA from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, USA, and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay, India.

Omer Abdullah

Co-Founder and Managing Director

Omer is a co-founder of the firm and leads The Smart Cube’s business across The Americas. He has more than 25 years of management consulting, global corporate and industry experience across North America, Europe and Asia.

Prior roles include A.T. Kearney (North America), Warner Lambert (USA) and The Perrier Group (Asia-Pacific). Omer has an MBA from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, USA and a BBA from the University of East Asia

Gavin O'Brien

Chief Financial Officer

Gavin is responsible for financial strategy, management and accounting for all companies in The Smart Cube group, as well as international taxation, treasury and investor relations. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Gavin worked for the Walt Disney Company and for UK public companies before focussing on growing entrepreneurial businesses. Gavin has extensive experience in financial and business management in industries including software, technology and hospitality.

Ruth Crawford

Chief Marketing Officer

Ruth is responsible for strengthening The Smart Cube’s brand worldwide and overseeing the development and execution of the company’s marketing strategy. She has more than two decades of global marketing and communications experience gained across Europe, the USA and Asia.

Prior roles include SunGard Financial Services and disruptive start-ups such as Opower and Mambu. Ruth holds an undergraduate degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Kent at Canterbury.

Harsha Swamy

Chief Commercial Officer

Harsha is responsible for leading sales and new business development, to drive The Smart Cube’s ambitious growth plans. He has 17+ years of sales and sales management experience, most recently spear-heading growth at a fast-growing analytics start-up, and previously managing sales development for companies including Cognizant and Sapient.

Harsha holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University.

Gaurav Kumar

Chief Operating Officer

Gaurav manages the company’s operations globally. This is his second innings with The Smart Cube, and in his previous role he spent 7 years growing the strategy, consulting and procurement capabilities for the firm. In his last role he worked for Fidelity Investments, where he led analytics and technology teams, and was part of their flagship GMA Leadership Programme. Gaurav holds an undergraduate degree in finance from Delhi University, and an MBA in Marketing.

Sushma Rana

Chief Human Resources Officer

Sushma brings two decades of leadership experience overseeing human resources and talent management. Her expertise in people development, behavioural and leadership training, talent management plays a strategic role in the development of the employees and business growth.

Prior to joining Sushma was the Talent Director at MSL GROUP, where she was a member of the Executive team. It was under her stewardship, MSL GROUP ranked 5th in the Professional services companies category among the Best Companies to Work in India list for the year 2014 & 2015.

Dheeraj Garg

Chief Information Officer

Dheeraj, with more than 20 years of application development experience, is leading The Smart Cube’s ongoing technology transformation. Dheeraj is helping the company to put technology at the heart of the business, and accelerate existing process automation.

Prior to joining The Smart Cube, Dheeraj held senior roles at Dataflow Group, Max New Life Insurance, Infosys and GE Money. Dheeraj holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Pune and an MBA from the University of Delhi.

Johnny Hewett

Chairman of the Board

Currently, Chief Executive of Smedvig Capital Johnny has been instrumental in the financing and development of more than 40 companies at all stages from start-up through to flotation.

Prior to Smedvig Capital, Johnny spent 3 years at Bain & Company, working on a range of strategic and operational issues in a variety of sectors. He began his career in investment banking spending six years in equity capital markets for Hill Samuel and later NatWest Markets where he was involved in all elements of equity and equity related financing.

Johnny is a board member of The Smart Cube (Chairman), LoveSpace, Quill, Kings Court Trust, My Home Move, Profile, Veeve, Antidote, Captify and Infinity.

Jon Lerner

Board Member

Jon is a Managing Director at Smedvig Capital, which he joined in 2008. Prior to Smedvig Capital Jon worked at Bain & Company as a Senior Consultant in London and Toronto. He also spent 6 months working in house at Argos on multi-channel strategy and product expansion.

Jon is currently a board member of Mediamorph, Quill, The Smart Cube, Captify and Infinity and has previously served on the board of Tusker, ITIS, Selstor and 3GS. Jon is actively looking for the best tech enabled businesses in the UK to invest in.

Sameer Walia

Board Member

Although no longer involved on a day-to-day basis Sameer is a co-founder of The Smart Cube. He has 22 years of strategy consulting, equities trading and industry experience.

Prior to co-founding The Smart Cube, Sameer spent over a decade with Accenture’s Management Consulting practice. He is a rank holder from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Delhi. Sameer is also a Fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership network, a group of entrepreneurial leaders with a focus on creating a better society, based in Aspen, Colorado.
